DIOCESAN "TOWN MEETING" SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 9
Concerned parents from across the Diocese of Scranton are sponsoring a "Diocesan Town Meeting" to discuss the issue of unionization in the Catholic schools.
All parents of children who are currently enrolled in the schools of the Diocese are invited to attend, particularly those parents in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Lycoming and Bradford counties where the Scranton Diocese Association of Catholic Teachers (SDACT) is seeking recognition as the union to represent teachers in the local schools.
Meeting coordinators are expecting more than a thousand people to attend.
(SDACT) has accepted an invitation from the parents' group to make a presentation and conduct a subsequent question and answer session.
Details on the meeting are as follows:
DATE: SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 2008
TIME: 2:00-4:00 PM
PLACE: GENETTI'S HOTEL, WILKES-BARRE
We hope every member of the Association will be in attendance at this important meeting. Moreover, we urge all of our members to contact parents in your schools. The parents' group has prepared invitations for distribution, but please issue to your parents as many personal invites as you can.
