COMMUNITY SUPPORT GALVANIZES BEHIND SDACT
On February 29, 2008, in a tremendous show of solidarity, SDACT members in every school across the Diocese of Scranton staged informational picketing at three regional sites in Williamsport, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.
Representatives of organized labor of every sort, as well as public school teachers, parents and grandparents of current and past Catholic school students could all be found shivering together on a very cold day, but their spirits undiminished, determined to voice their support for SDACT's campaign for dignity and justice.
Community support of our cause has galvanized because the entire community, save one man, who is getting bad advice, understands the consequences that without the continuing presence of a union in Catholic education, that system as we have come to know it and appreciate it will cease to exist.
